ZIN VALDES

Zin Valdes is a cybersecurity and compliance professional with a unique journey that began in the medical field before transitioning into IT and ultimately cybersecurity. With hands-on experience in both offensive and defensive security, Zin has worked across penetration testing, threat detection, incident response, and infrastructure hardening.

In her most recent role, Zin led the security and compliance department at a fast-paced startup, where she rebuilt their security tech stack and guided the company through key frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and more. Her work helped mature the organization’s security posture and laid the foundation for long-term compliance and risk management success.

Zin holds a CISA certification and is currently pursuing additional CISSP, and OffSec certifications to continue expanding her technical toolkit. She’s passionate about building security programs that are practical, people-focused, and resilient.

She currently resides in Chicago, where she enjoys exploring the city’s food scene, traveling whenever she can, and playing sports. Zin is energized by the opportunity to help organizations grow securely and is looking forward to delivering thoughtful and impactful security solutions.
